Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about ACSIOM homes — customization, the build process, service area, permits, and how pricing and deposits are handled.

Products

How is an ACSIOM home different from a traditional custom-built home?

ACSIOM homes are designed as a system rather than one-off projects. Each model starts from a resolved architectural design, then takes shape through your choice of Architectural Collection, Interior Experience, and Smart Living configuration. That systemized approach is intended to bring more predictability to design and construction than a fully custom build, while still giving you meaningful architectural choice.

How much can I customize my home?

Every ACSIOM model can be shaped along three dimensions: the Architectural Collection (Modern, Contemporary, or Traditional, where offered for that model), the Interior Experience (Core, Select, or Signature), and the Smart Living configuration. This gives each home a distinct character without the open-ended complexity of a fully custom design.

Can I use an ACSIOM home as a rental or investment property?

Many homeowners consider ADUs and small homes for long-term rental or multigenerational living. Whether that works for your property depends on local zoning and regulations, which are looked at as part of the site and regulatory review step. Our team can discuss how different models fit rental and investment scenarios during your consultation.

What technology is included in an ACSIOM home?

ACSIOM homes are designed around integrated Smart Living systems covering climate, lighting, security, guest access, voice control, scheduling, and energy. The exact features included, offered as options, or planned for the future vary by model and configuration — your consultation will confirm what applies to the home you’re considering.

Process

How long does it take to build an ACSIOM home?

Timelines depend on your site, local permitting requirements, and the model and configuration you choose. During your consultation and site review, we walk through the stages of your specific project — from qualification and permitting through production and delivery — so you have a realistic picture before committing.

Where does ACSIOM currently serve?

ACSIOM is rooted in California’s Silicon Valley. Service availability for your specific location is confirmed during the consultation and site review process — please reach out with your project ZIP code and we’ll advise on your area.

Who handles permits and approvals?

Permitting requirements vary significantly by city and county. Responsibilities for permits, site work, and construction are defined for each project during the site and regulatory review, so you’ll know exactly who handles what before any agreement is made.

What happens after I join the waitlist?

You’ll receive updates on product availability and launch timing for the models you’re interested in, and you can book a consultation at any time. Joining the waitlist doesn’t commit you to anything — it simply keeps you first in line for updates.

Payments

How do pricing and deposits work?

Pricing is provided through consultation, based on your model, configuration, and site conditions. When a project moves forward, any deposit is handled through Stripe’s secure hosted checkout — ACSIOM never stores your card details — and the applicable refund and cancellation policy is shared with you in writing before any payment.
